Threshold Figures: Color
Threshold Figures is a series of self-portraits exploring the liminal spaces between presence and absence, memories and embodiment. Created over a period spanning fifteen years, these photographs depict figures emerging from darkness, dissolving into motion, or appearing suspended between states.
Through the use of long exposures, blur, reflection, layered imagery, and in-camera distortion, the images live in a space between portrait and apparition. Drawing on themes of transformation, mortality, grief, and perception, Threshold Figures considers the photograph a site of passage instead of permanence.
